Unburdening is the key word

Additionally, the increase in prefab construction has made pluggable electrical installation more popular. “We help all our customers from start to finish.”

A great deal of enthusiasm and passion is heard in every word that Commercial Manager Mohammed Zaanan of Isolectra says about pluggable electrical installation. “We started doing this in the early 90s and now we are the market leader with a market share of 70 to 80 percent. That is because it’s in our DNA, it runs in our veins.” This is partly due to the cooperation with chain partners and with manufacturer Wieland Electric, he says. “Together with our partner, we are committed to offering our customers a solution that closes the loop on the challenges they face. We can only do that by listening carefully, and that is exactly what we have been doing since we started with pluggable electrical installation.”

Isolectra Pluggable Installation

Together with partners and Wieland Electric, Isolectra has provided pluggable electrical installations in recent years in buildings such as the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), the University Medical Centre of Radboud University and Groningen University. “However, the needs of such large fitting companies that realise major projects differ from the needs of electrical contracters who have to install a transformation project, a house or a shop”, acknowledges Zaanan. “Where clients such as RIVM and Groningen University want to fit out their many square metres efficiently, a shop owner wants to open her shop as quickly as possible. And in residential development, it’s about repetitive connections, such as when a block of terraced houses is built. Thanks to the wide range of Wieland Electric products, we are able to offer a wide variety of solutions. Within these solutions, we standardise the components ina flexible way so that the right products are always available from electrical wholesalers. In the end, this allows our customers to choose the most suitable solutions themselves.

Prefab and industrial construction

Zaanan has noticed that Isolectra is getting new customers daily who are taking their first steps with pluggable electrical installation. According to him, this is due not only to the shortage of electrically trained installers, but also to the increase in prefabricated and industrial construction. “These relatively new ways of building are an excellent match for pluggable electrical installation. This makes construction projects increasingly ‘Plug & Play’. And thanks to the rise of industrial construction, we are involved in building projects at an increasingly early stage. We are very pleased with this development, as it prevents additional work for installation companies. The earlier we get involved in the engineering together, the greater the benefit that can be achieved.”

Hassle-free

Among other things, Isolectra supports its customers in selecting the correct cables, a process that has become much more difficult in recent years. “Fire safety has changed, for example. This not only provides greater levels of safety, but also more flexibility. Among other things, this has increased the number of fire classes in cables from two to five. The use of the correct cable depends on the fire risk in the building. This requires a larger stock and, thanks to our close contacts with the electrical wholesaler, we offer all our customers a helping hand here too.”

Specifically for new customers, the company has set up Isolectra Academy, an online learning environment where electrical contracters gain knowledge about pluggable electrical installation and test their knowledge - free of charge. “We train, help and guide our customers and offer them support during projects. Unburdening is always our key word”, says Zaanan.
