Is LED lighting right for me? There is a simple answer to that question: try it yourself.

Many growers have come before you by conducting a test without extensively overhauling their existing installation. Most growing light installations feature light connections via a Wieland RST20® connector. Isolectra's RST® converter makes it possible to use almost any LED light fixture in combination with your existing installation.

The use of growing lights has become a standard in the horticultural sector. Growing lights have been used for years and they are often connected using Wieland's RST® connectors. In almost any greenhouse, you will find Wieland RST® connectors, which were specifically designed for use in this environment. For years, Isolectra - as Wieland's representative in the Netherlands - has been advising growers and light manufacturers about the best connectivity in the horticultural sector.

LED lights
LED growing lights are undeniably the most popular current trend. Each crop has its own formula with which crop yields can be improved. On top of that, LED lighting consumes less power. In some cases, the existing HPS lighting is entirely replaced with LED. In other cases, hybrid installations that combine LED and HPS and top- and interlighting are used.

When new growing lights are installed, it is sometimes necessary to connect a growing light with a green RST20® connector to an installation with black connectors or vice versa. Although this is possible in terms of specifications, the connectors do not fit together. To solve this issue, Isolectra developed the RST® converter. With this converter, new growing lights can be added to the infrastructure without costly modifications.

Additionally, there are growing lights that feature the smaller RST16® connector. Isolectra offers adapter cables and splitter cables to connect these lights to a greenhouse's existing infrastructure or to add additional interlighting to an existing installation.

The new LED lamp is connected to the existing infrastructure using the RST® converter or an adapter cable or splitter cable. This means the existing infrastructure is not modified in any way. Old and new lights can be used together. The new growing lights are simply connected to the existing infrastructure.  This makes it possible to partially convert a greenhouse or overhaul its lighting system in phases.
