Pluggable electrical installations in prefab concrete
Contract
Supplying and developing the pluggable materials, such as the plugs and cable glands for the junction boxes, and devising and delivering the entire process. This was for the Schuytse Schans project in Arnhem, which comprises 71 new homes.
The process
Electrical contractor Dijkink was the electrical installer for the systems and electrics on this project. They started with the structural work after which they mounted the cables in the walls with the final assembly followed with the wall socket outlets and meter cabinet being installed. This was concluded by inspection and follow-up. Pluggable electrical installation was chosen because it saves time compared to traditional construction, which was very efficient on such a big project.
- Innovation
- Prefab concrete
- Wall socket outlets
- Fewer people on construction sites
- Fewer transport movements
- Efficient and durable
Pluggable in prefab concrete
About three years ago, Isolectra started looking at installations that can be cast directly into prefab concrete. Dijkink has been involved in this from the very beginning. Together, the installation was devised in the way it was implemented in the homes. During this project, it was seen that less time was needed to install systems on site – it was just a matter of making a plug connection and it was finished. A big advantage of this was that fewer people were needed on the construction site and therefore fewer cars were driving to the site. This in turn made a positive contribution to the environment.
