Pluggable electrical installations for new school building

Contract

The ROC Midden Nederland Hospitality & Tourism College in Nieuwegein continues in a new school building. The college has been completely renovated and extended. The project was divided into two parts for the electrical installations, each with their own approach. For the renovation part, Linthorst Techniek called upon Wieland’s pluggable electrical installations.

Wiring diagrams

Based on the existing drawings, a quotation was made with wiring diagrams including presence detection for all fully pluggable electrical spaces. This included 30 classrooms, most corridors, toilets and some offices, where cables and connectors from Wieland were applied with standard cable lengths of 2 or 3 metres and some of 10 metres, eliminating cable clutter.

Result

In each space, a mains cable was picked up from a junction box, to which a GST18® plug was connected to be wired to the wall sockets, fixtures and sensors using the Wieland GST18® system. The socket outlets are equipped with Gira switchgear, Isolectra’s pluggable B.E.G. sensors and fixtures by Opple. In addition, LED tiles have been incorporated into the ceilings in the classrooms, LED downlights have been installed in the corridors and toilets, four classrooms have been equipped with daylight sensors and controls, and the small rooms have been equipped with motion detection.
