Pluggable lighting improves comfort, concentration, and learning performance
Project
For the new construction of the evangelical school De Passie in Wierden, Alferink Installatietechniek, commissioned by Jansman Bouw, carried out all mechanical, sanitary, and electrical installations in accordance with the Frisse Scholen (Fresh Schools) Program of Requirements. The 5,000 m² school building is modern, sustainable, and designed to optimize learning performance. Isolectra was involved in the process to develop an energy-efficient and effective sensor plan and to supply all pluggable lighting components.
Lighting with Sensor Intelligence
To ensure optimal comfort and a healthy learning environment, a strong focus was placed on energy-efficient and uniform lighting. LED panels with a minimum light intensity of 500 lux provide an even light distribution in classrooms and offices. The entire lighting system is pluggable and linked to daylight and presence detection from B.E.G., supplied by Isolectra. At Alferink’s request, Isolectra worked with B.E.G. to create a well-thought-out sensor plan. This included advice not only on sensor types but also on the correct quantities and positions per room. In total, around one hundred sensors were installed, ranging from simple on/off solutions to DALI master/slave sensors.

Plug & Play with Wieland
To ensure fast and error-free connection of sensors and lighting fixtures, Isolectra selected the appropriate pluggable cabling from Wieland. The switches that allow teachers to dim or override the lighting locally are also designed as pluggable units. In total, five types of switches and sensors were supplied, all connected plug & play thanks to prefabricated cabling provided via Technische Unie.
