Delivering the Wieland pluggable installation system for the affordable, flexible, and sustainable housing concept developed by installer QYUUBS.

Sustainable and Detachable

As the only modular builder in the Netherlands, QYUUBS constructs entirely with Cross Laminated Timber (CLT). The homes are produced in manageable 2D elements and assembled on-site using an intelligent system. Next, a mock-up package with CLT interior walls is installed, after which the roof is closed and the home can be finished.
Recently, a 3D version has also become available, where homes are delivered as ready-made modules that only need to be connected. Both the 2D elements and 3D modules incorporate Wieland pluggable installations. This approach anticipates the severe shortage of skilled technicians while ensuring the sustainability and detachability of the concept.

In the Floor

CLT-based residential construction is relatively new in the Netherlands. Moreover, the timber is so hard that integrating conduits is a real challenge. Isolectra has succeeded in developing a plug-and-play system specifically for this purpose. The starting point was an installation concept with as few conduits as possible in walls and ceilings.
In collaboration with QYUUBS, Isolectra’s Consultancy department designed an efficient system that can be applied directly in the insulating honeycomb floor. Several strategic chain partners were also invited to join the process. This resulted in a complete, 100% pluggable installation concept for CLT homes, built around the Wieland GST18® pluggable installation system.
