The need for charging stations for electric vehicles represents a new development in the market. The new podis^® 5G16 flat cable turns out to be the ideal solution for supplying power to these charging stations.

The need for charging stations is growing
Faced with a growing need for charging stations, installation technicians are kept busy with connecting charging units. This is definitely a job for an expert. We are not talking about installing a wall outlet, after all.

Installing a charging unit requires quite a bit of careful thought. How will it affect the electrical installation to which it is connected? Adding a single charging station is one thing, but what happens when multiple charging units are needed in one place? This is particularly the case at parking facilities where multiple electric vehicles have to be charged simultaneously. Although stand-alone charging stations are a commonly used solution, a lot of money can be saved by mounted the charging units on the wall where possible. This eliminates the need for a foundation, charging poles and ground cables.

There is a high demand for charging units, especially in public parking structures near movie theatres, shopping centres, restaurants or factories, but also in the parking garages of residential building. As each charging unit requires its own power supply, the costs can rise exponentially.

Charging units can be installed where needed. These are then connected to the ribbon cable using the special connection module with piercing technology.
The entire system features IP65 protection and is CE and cULus certified.

A new charging unit can be mounted at the desired location and connected to the flat cable at any point using the connection unit with piercing technology.
