Circular installation with Wieland
Our government's target is to achieve a 50% circular economy by 2030 and a 100% circular economy by 2050. This means products are recycled and reused instead of being thrown out. In other words, (raw) materials are used in a circular manner. The construction sector is set to be an important player in the circular economy.
The Dutch Environmental Database
The purpose of the Dutch Environmental Database (NMD) is to provide clear insight into the environmental performances and circularity of buildings. To that end, the NMD contains product sheets with information on construction products. Products are only included in the database after a very extensive and rigorous screening of their circular properties by an accredited specialist.
Wieland and LCA
Following an LCA study, Isolectra's pluggable Wieland installations were also included in the Dutch Environmental Database with a category 1 product sheet. Installation technicians that use Wieland's GST18® and RST20® pluggable installation systems in their projects can use the data from the NMD to make accurate product comparisons and to calculate and even improve the sustainability and environmental performances of their buildings.
Furthermore, investors who use five product groups with a category 1 product sheet are eligible to receive the MIA/VAMIL subsidy.
Testing and certification for reuse
For this, a return agreement has to be reached with the products’ supplier, Isolectra. Isolectra promises to take back the products after use. The products are then tested and certified, so the next party to use them can rest assured knowing that the components still meet the strict requirements for pluggable installations.
