Trouble with condensation in watertight fixtures? Extra protection through contact sealing.

To ensure that not a single drop of water can disable the electronics, especially when used outdoors or in humid environments such as greenhouses, the Wieland RST® Micro connector and the widely used RST® Classic connector are available with an optional water stop function. An internal sealing system prevents moisture from migrating through the connector and causing damage to the installation or fixtures. The leaking section can be isolated and repaired precisely.

Why is this feature needed? It provides extra safety for cable installations. Temperature fluctuations and resulting condensation, incorrect installation and damaged cables, as well as fixtures in extremely humid conditions that, via their pressure relief vent, draw in moisture instead of air, can become your biggest enemy when moisture enters the devices via the cable (the so-called capillary effect)! This is where the sealing comes into play: each contact has its own additional seal to prevent water ingress via the cable and the contacts (longitudinally watertight).
