Which products may be called Wieland, GST® or GST18®?
Answer: Wieland, GST® en GST18® are protected brand names owned by Wieland-Electric. These names may not be used for any other manufacturers’ products. That is an economic crime, punishable under Dutch law. Wieland will take action against misappropriation of the brand name if it is detected.

Answer: No, pluggable electrical installation connectors of other brands are not compatible with Wieland connectors. Connectors of different brands must not be used together. Never join two connectors from different manufacturers.
Rationale:
- It is sometimes claimed that pluggable electrical installation systems of different brands are compatible or belong to the same ‘family’. This is NOT true Mixing different brands of pluggable electrical installation connectors in one installation can lead to dangerous situations. That is why the various standards also warn against mixing brands.
- Installations in the Netherlands must comply with NEN1010. NEN1010 requires compliance with European standards such as NEN-EN IEC61535.
