The benefits of Streda
Simplifying and making construction more efficient is something we at Isolectra like to think about. It’s in our DNA. And it was this conviction that resulted in our pluggable installation solutions. However, we didn’t stop there. We continue to think about and develop how we can make the industrial installation construction process as efficient as possible. Therefore, we have been working on a new system, Streda, for the past 2.5 to 3 years. Earlier, we described exactly what Streda is and what prompted this development (A revolution in construction: Streda | Isolectra). In this blog, we take a closer look at the benefits of Streda. Obviously for builders but also for residents.
Benefit for builders
Having started researching and developing Streda several years ago, we are currently in the official introduction phase. Streda is going to give home-builders the benefits they require.
In particular, Streda contributes to a more efficient work process. This is due to moving work to a factory-like environment rather than having it take place on site. In a factory environment, people are much less affected by each other and therefore by disruptions. This ensures efficiency and error reduction. As a result, it changes from being project-based to being an industrial process.
And that represents a major step forward in efficiency, such as when connecting or adjusting sockets, data contacts, switches, etc. There is an entire chain behind the modification of sockets. Because there are so many people involved, nobody in the construction industry is keen on this kind of change. Streda solves this. The process in which one indicates where sockets should be placed is completely digitised. The builder devises the installation and places it in a portal. Based on this, the installer sees where components need to be placed, and because of the hybrid cable carrying power and data, this does not affect the infrastructure.
We have always included the builders who were involved from the start in development. So we kept them constantly updated on the status and tested whether they could work with this system. The advantage of including partners is that they also remain partners in the process. And given the very positive feedback, we have every confidence in Streda’s future.
Convenience for residents thanks to Streda
Besides contributing to building efficiency with Streda, the system also offers benefits to residents.
It allows residents to easily change their installation by moving sockets and data points. Like, for example, moving a TV. This no longer needs to be done by running cables over the skirting boards. The resident can easily physically swap sockets and data boxes from one place to another.
Another interesting element for residents is switching outlets with equipment in the home, such as a floor lamp. Each socket can also have a function that indicates how much power is being consumed. This offers residents insight into their own consumption and possibly a timely signal if something is wrong with a particular appliance.
Unique market position
There are no other parties in the market that can provide a system comparable to Streda. This is our own concept, consisting of hybrid cable with power and data, built-in boxes (DOCKS), cassettes (SNAP-Ins) and a central control box. It was developed by us and we own it. This gives us a knowledge advantage.
We are unique, especially when it comes to flexible assembly on construction sites. Other parties making homes ‘smart’ are mainly focused on residents.
In fact, Streda bridges the gap between efficiency in construction and living comfort by making more gadgets available. Initially, we started by facilitating the industrial construction process. This also remains the driving force. However, the wonderful secondary benefit is that it also offers consumers a lot of comfort and flexibility.
